About Me

I’m Folashade Olaitan, a Software Engineer and DevOps / Cloud Engineer with a strong foundation in computer science, cloud infrastructure, and data-driven problem solving.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Ilorin and two Master’s degrees in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, both awarded with distinction. This academic foundation has shaped a career that spans software development, cloud engineering, DevOps automation, and analytics, enabling me to build systems that are both technically robust and business-focused.

My professional journey began in data and business intelligence within the financial services sector, where I worked with organisations such as FirstBank Nigeria, delivering data-driven solutions that improved operational efficiency, risk monitoring, and customer engagement. Over time, my role evolved beyond analytics into software engineering and system automation, where I became increasingly focused on building scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.

Today, I work at the intersection of software engineering and cloud infrastructure. I develop backend and full-stack applications using Java, SpringBoot, React, and REST APIs, and deploy them on AWS cloud environments using Docker, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines. I enjoy automating deployments, improving system reliability, and designing cloud-native architectures that scale efficiently.

I recently completed a Software Engineering Bootcamp (Coding Black Females x UBS), where I built and deployed a Bond Catalog API, applying DevOps best practices such as containerization, version control, and continuous integration. I am currently deepening my expertise through hands-on AWS Cloud and DevOps projects, focusing on automation, monitoring, and platform reliability.

While my focus has shifted toward Software, DevOps, and Cloud Engineering, my background in data analytics and artificial intelligence continues to influence how I work — particularly in areas such as observability, performance optimisation, and data-informed decision-making. I bring an analytical mindset to every system I build, ensuring solutions are not only functional but also measurable and resilient.

Beyond my technical work, I value collaboration, continuous learning, and mentorship, and I enjoy contributing to team environments where knowledge sharing and innovation are encouraged.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, travelling, trading the forex market, and formulating natural skincare products.
